FAQ

Can I change the gun mode on my sewer jetter to operate at 4000PSI?

Yes, call your USJ rep and they can walk you through the steps to adjust this setting.

Do I need an unloader valve?

No, because this gun has the dumping feature, it does not require an unloader valve.

Water is coming out of the end of my dump gun even when I pressure down. Is that ok?

Yes, the dumping feature means that when you release the trigger of the gun, instead of dead heading the water pump, the water is relieved at low pressure out of the end of the top barrel on the gun. This protects the pump against over pressurization.

Why does my engine bog down when I use this dump gun?

If your engine is bogging down, you likely need to open your bypass valve to divert some water back to the tank since the gun is only rated for 8GPM.

FAQ

What is a 3/8” Jetter Hose, and How Does it Differ from Other Jetting Hoses?

The 3/8” jetter hose is a specialized hose used for high-pressure hydro jetting jobs to clean sewer systems. This particular hose size is intended for a working pressure of 3000-4000 PSI and a flow rate of 10-12 GPM. This hose can work in pipes ranging from 3”-6” in diameter.

What pipe size should a 3/8” Sewer Jetter Hose be used in?

For every hydro jetting job, the operator must select the correct hose for the pipe size they will be working in. The 3/8” sewer jetter hose is designed to clean pipes that are 3”-6” in diameter.

What Are the Key Features of a Hydro Jetting Hose?

Hydro jetting hoses must withstand the intensity of high-pressure sewer jetting jobs. The 3/8” hose has a minimum burst rating of two-and-a-half times the rated working pressure. It is also available in three lengths: 100’, 200’, and 300’. All US Jetting hoses have a thermoplastic inner core tube, wrapped with a woven multi-layer textile mesh reinforcement, to prevent ruptures.

In What Scenarios Is a Sewer Jet Hose Typically Utilized?

Sewer jet hoses are utilized in every hydro jetting job, but the specific hose chosen will depend on the size and shape of the pipe, the nature of the job, and the hydro jetter unit being used. Hydro jet hoses are used to clean sewer lines, flush debris, and clear blockages in a variety of sewer systems.

Are 3/8” Jetter Hoses Compatible with Different Hydro Jetting Equipment?

Yes, the 3/8” jetter hose has a working pressure of 3000-4000 PSI and a flow rate of 10-12 GPM, so it is compatible with hydro jetting machines that operate at these levels. The 3/8” sewer jetter is also compatible with all 3/8” jetter nozzles.

What Maintenance Practices Are Recommended for Hydro Jetting Hoses?

Jetting hoses are wear and tear items, so it is important to choose a strong and durable hose. The length of the hose lifespan predominantly depends on the care taken by the operator. It is strongly recommended to use tools such as a tiger tail holder, manhole roller, manhole protection ring, and leader hose to maintain your hose and increase its longevity.

What Safety Precautions Should Be Considered When Using Jetting Hoses?

Besides using the recommended hose accessories that prevent damage, operators should inspect hoses for wear, rips, and kinks before any jetting jobs. If the hose is damaged in any way, it should not be used. Also, be sure to wear the proper safety equipment and operate the hydro better at the correct pressure for the hose.
